The Linea Mini is the heart of any coffee setup—a machine designed for precision, control, and consistency. Now, with the La Marzocco App, dialing in and managing your espresso workflow is more intuitive than ever. From adjusting brew temperature to setting steam pressure and scheduling auto on/off times, the app brings added control to every shot.
Connecting your Linea Mini to the La Marzocco App is quick and easy. In this guide, we’ll walk through setting up the app step by step—ensuring everything is ready to go, so you can focus on making great espresso.
Step 1: Power On
Plug in your Linea Mini and switch it on using the rocker switch, located on the lower back right side of the machine.
Step 2: Put the Linea Mini into Bluetooth Mode
- Check that Bluetooth is turned on in your phone settings
- Turn off the power on the Linea Mini
- Move the brewing paddle to the left.
- Turn the power back on to the Linea Mini while keeping the paddle in the left position.
- The machine is now in Bluetooth pairing mode. Move the paddle back to the right.
Step 3: Add the Linea Mini in the App
Now, open the La Marzocco App and follow these steps:
- Tap ‘ADD NEW MACHINE’ to open the Found Devices screen.
- When your machine is in Bluetooth pairing mode it should appear on the found devices page in the app! Select ‘Linea Mini’ from the list of available devices.
- Tap ‘CONTINUE SETUP’ to move forward.
Step 4: Connect the Linea Mini to Wi-Fi
The Linea Mini connects to your home Wi-Fi network:
- Choose a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network (not 5GHz).
- Tap ‘CONTINUE’ and enter your Wi-Fi password.
- Wait for the connection to be completed.
Pro Tip: If your connection fails, try moving closer to your router during setup.
Step 6: Personalize Your Linea Mini
Make your machine feel like home!
- Give it a name (e.g., “Linea Mini”, “My Espresso Setup” or “Morning Ritual,” etc.).
- Choose a location (e.g., Home, Coffee Bar, Workplace, etc.).
- Tap ‘CONTINUE’ to finalize the setup.
La Marzocco App Features for the Linea Mini
Dashboard
- Coffee Station: Connect the Linea Mini, Pico and a Connected scale to access brew-by-weight and grind-by-weight. Click HERE for the instructions to continue setting up your Coffee Station if you also have the La Marzocco Connected Scale!
- Status: Allows you to turn your machine on or place it into standby.
BOLIERS
- Coffee Boiler: Adjust the water temperature for making espresso.
- Steam Boiler: Choose between 3 levels of steam pressure. The steam boiler can also be turned off to save power while leaving the coffee boiler on.
BREW BY WEIGHT
- Connected Scale: Brew-by-weight uses a compatible scale to automatically stop brewing at your desired weight. Add the La Marzocco connected scale to your setup and monitor your brew-by-weight settings. You can also retrain the connected scale as needed.
- Yield Dose 1: This can be set to any weight in grams.
- Yield Dose 2: This can be set to any weight in grams.
- Continuous: This is the manual option for brewing with the connected scale.
MACHINE
- Rinse: Control the amount of time that the group dispenses when manually rinsing. It can be activated by quickly moving the brewing paddle on the machine back and forth. Sometimes people call this a purge.
- Pre-Brewing: Using the pump, this feature introduces a small amount of water to the coffee puck, followed by a pause. Customize how long you would like the on and off time to be for the pre-brew.

- Auto Backflush: Clean your machine using this automated cycle that takes about 2 minutes.
Scheduling
- Auto Standby: Conserve power by placing the machine into standby mode after a set amount of time following your last brew or after the machine was powered on.
- On/Off Scheduling: Program specific times for the machine to power on and off, ensuring it’s ready when you are and saving energy during idle periods.
- Remote Operation: Turn the machine on or off remotely through the app, offering convenience and control from a distance.
My Stats
- Performance Statistics: Access data such as the number of shots pulled over the machine’s lifetime, helping you monitor usage and maintenance needs.
- Resource Library: Gain access to a collection of how-to guides and frequently asked questions to enhance your barista skills and troubleshoot common issues.
Settings
- Auto Update: When active, the gateway will automatically update to the latest version when it becomes available.
- Plumb-in: If you are working with a technician to plumb-in your machine, you will find the activation mode here.
- Machine Users: Share your machine with a new user.
- Factory Reset: Reset your machine to the factory settings.
- Unpair: Unpair your machine from the app.
